Might I have the audacity to say this? Might I? This might be the best duck rice in Singapore for real. I often order the $11 platter for 2 and the sauce is like some sort of drug. The herbal-ness is ever so slight and subtle, but present. The sauce drenching your porridge, your kway teow or your rice might just be some heavenly dark sauce drenching over it... The presentation is also rather well done for a hawker stall with all the cucumbers arranged neatly beneath. The effort is there. The lean duck meat is not too tough and just right for your mouth to do some work, yet not have to over chew - together with the sauce is just like some 24k magic. Did I mention while your happily eating, relish in the fact with thankfulness that the stall owners actually serves boneless duck! Hallelujah. I like that duck is the main thing in this stall. Too many duck stalls around in Singapore tries to deviate away from duck to all the peripheral tau kwa and salted vegetables and then stinge on the duck meat. Some people prefer that though. This stall is the real deal; you come here mainly for duck not the peripheral dishes. The cucumbers and cilantros just complement the meal very well. Is that all there is? I think it couldn't be more well done than this. If you've found a really good duck rice that you think beats this, please tell me. For now, this is the champion head to toe soul player of duck rice for me. Only down sides - queues take very long. Soup is like a bland duck flavour soup.

I started eating at Cheok Kee when it was at MacPherson Road, they used to have boiled soup too. Now at East Coast, the duck meat is still tender, the gravy (lor chap) on the brown rice or porridge still make it tastes better, the braised pig intestines is also still good. I missed their boiled soup, especially the bitter gourd with pork ribs.

Five Stars, why? It's the only Duck joint I've tried in my short time in Singapore. So to me, "it's as good as it gets!" I started my day at Extreme Skatepark in East Coast Park with a couple of friends. A few hours of skating normally results to a pretty empty stomach. Being so close to the Lagoon Food Court we were fortunate to come across this great little stand "Duck Rice and Duck Porridge". Seeing that the line (at the time) was 10 times longer than any of the other shop, it must be the place to eat. I think we waited for about 20-30 mins until we reached the front. Not being able to understand the menu, the man at the stand just asked us how many people... I told him 3. A serving for 3 got us 3 bowls of Duck rice and a plate of boneless chopped duck topped with their special sauce for a total of 23 SG Dollars which equals to about 20USD. My first thoughts was that this wasn't enough for 3 American dudes with American appetites ;) I was certainly wrong about that. Serving for 3 was enough to suppress the hunger of all 3 of us, manly of men lol. Aside from the sufficient serving size, the Duck and Duck rice was awesome. Perfectly roasted duck, juicy and succulent, glazed with mouthwatering salty/sweet sauce which leaves you to crave for hours later. This place is surely a must visit location if you're ever in Singapore. I'm sure if you are a local, you're probably aware of how good this place is but if you're an outside like myself, I highly recommend you give this place a try. You would be disappointed. Be sure to grab a cup of sugar cane drink a couple stalls down!

Duck is sliced in to right thickness that induces appetite. More importantly, boneless! Duck porridge is a MUST - TRY too!

I love this duck place. I've been eating it since the days it was at macpherson road. I like it better than the boneless duck place in buona vista. The black rice is great, the duck meat is succulent and flavorful., and boneless. Porridge is good too. Throw in perfectly braised duck wings, gizzards, liver, intestines, braised eggs, beancurd....heavenly. Your cholesterol probably won't thank you but your tummy would. It is one of the few stores that open at lunch at the food centre. Lines do get long but much shorter than at dinner.

DUCK RICE MAGIC. Was here last weekend, as it the ritual whenever my buddy now based in Holland makes it home. Braised duck rice is all about the gravy, or the "lor", if you speak the language, and the "lor" here is thick, and sweet and smells of angels. Okay maybe not quite the same, but it's pretty awesome still. The duck is always tender, and when you add the tau pok, tau kwa, and eggs, then cover it all with that magic "lor" - it is magical. You get the option of rice (which is covered in "lor"), or porridge (which you can drizzle - i just pour - "lor" over), but either way, it's always mega satisfying. The queues can be crazy, so maybe you can pick up a curry puff or two at the stall just before it. enterprising, I say...
